This Gardman Sparrow Colony Nest Box with three nesting holes is perfect for colony nesting birds such as House Sparrows.
Made from FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council) certified wood with a strong and durable design.
It comes fitted with a slate effect roof and a nest box plate around each of the entrance holes to protect birds from predators.
Each nest compartment has a separate and removable floor for easy cleaning also.
Place the nest box away from any high winds and rain and keep out of direct sunlight. Keep away from bird feeders as feeding birds can disturb nesting birds. If the nest box is being attached to a tree, angle the front of the box slightly downwards to prevent water entering. Position the nest box around 1.2m to 2m off the ground to prevent the risk of predators and in a quiet place.
Nest boxes can be cleaned out between 1st August and 31st January but be aware that some birds may still be breeding! Removing old nests can reduce the number of nest parasites, including fleas. Always ensure wild birds have plenty of fresh, clean water for drinking and bathing. Clean feeding and drinking areas regularly with a mild disinfectant.
