The Gardman Multi Nest Box is ideal for lots of different birds to nest in, especially during the winter months.
This box will encourage many different birds into your garden with its interchangeable entrances. Robins will use the open front option, whereas smaller birds like Blue Tits and also Tree Sparrows will enter through the 28mm hole option. Additionally, the 32mm hole will encourage larger species such as House Sparrows.
Place the nest box away from any high winds and rain and keep out of direct sunlight. Keep away from bird feeders as feeding birds can disturb nesting birds. If the nest box is being attached to a tree, angle the front of the box slightly downwards to prevent water entering. Position the nest box around 1.2m to 2m off the ground to prevent the risk of predators and in a quiet place.
Nest boxes can be cleaned out between 1st August and 31st January but be aware that some birds may still be breeding! Removing old nests can reduce the number of nest parasites, including fleas. Always ensure wild birds have plenty of fresh, clean water for drinking and bathing. Clean feeding and drinking areas regularly with a mild disinfectant.
